After the "War to End All Wars ." the public longed for a more tranquil existence. To commemorate the conflict . the U.S. Mint created the Peace Silver Dollars from 1921 - 1928 & 1934-1935. The obverse design features a gracious Lady Liberty in a flowing gown wearing a radiant crown . while the reverse side shows an eagle perched on a rock with the word "Peace" inscribed above it.
